I took the easy way out this time. I sent a prepackaged female hygiene kit through treatanysoldier.com to any female soldier. I’m sure my effort will still be appreciated. In the message to her I wrote:
“I want you to know that although not everybody agrees with the war, EVERYONE in America is 100% in support of the troops. We appreciate everything you all do for us, and you all our continuously in our thoughts. May you be brought home safe and sound.”
I hope this effort makes just the tiniest bit of difference in someone’s life.
Next time, I will put together my own care package like I have done before.

With my mother, I have sent two care packages. To my brother-in-law and his best friend, while they were in Iraq. They are home now, but to me this goal would really mean something now if I were to send a care package to A marine, someone I don’t know. I think it’d really boost morale for one person just a little. This is something I want to do very soon.

Doubled checked the address, went to the post yesterday and sent it off. In the grand scheme, who knows, but on an individual level, I hope it’s a welcome gift on the other end.

I finished my purchases today at Target and am planning on getting it all to the post office by next weekend at the latest. For any folks that are also interested in this, check out anysolider.com.

I have some random stuff to send over. Would like to pick up a rechargeable battery set and maybe pick up some more random stuff over the course of the week. Then pick up some recommended items for a second box and send off the entire thing—goal will be in two weeks.
