remember birthdays on time

I’ve acknowledged the first two March birthdays on time and even bought a card for the next one!

There are about a million birthdays in March. The first one is tomorrow, so my plan for tonight is an email. The present for the next birthday has already been delivered to the person’s house so I just have to get a card in the mail tomorrow.

I’ve already missed the first February birthday. We’re having a party at my house for the next one, so I’d better be more on the ball! I’m going to check the calendar tonight and think about preparing ahead of time.

Well, I didn’t get a real card in the mail but I got a Facebook message up on time! I’m counting that as a positive step.

I’m not counting my FIL’s birthday as I reminded hubby about 6 times to call him and we’re visiting to celebrate next week (no present to mail that way!), and the card for the next birthday on Sun. is waiting for an address and stamp here on the table. If it gets mailed tomorrow, it’ll be there in plenty of time. Presents for my niece are already purchased and my nephew is next on the list. I may get this under control yet!

I managed to email someone on his birthday, so I’ll consider that a start. Still a very long way to go on this one, though, seeing as I’ve remembered one birthday out of dozens. I really need to acknowledge a new baby, two weddings, and a couple of other events, too.

Oops. Didn’t acknowledge a single Aug. birthday, except those we attended parties for. (However, by the same token, am not sulking over the fact that very few people acknowledged mine. Fair play and all.) September starts next week and that seems like a good time to recommit to this goal. (Hmm… only Sept. birthday I can think of without the calendar is an ex-fiance’s. Maybe that’s not a good place to start.)

Several birthdays are coming up this month, so this will be a good test.
