How I did it: I just didn't shave for a month. Then I removed all facial hair that didn't look like a mustache. That's actually all that there is to it. It's easy. It's easier than writing 150 characters about it, for sure. Wah! Read how I did it…

I stopped shaving my moustache in late September/early October 2008 I think, and although progress has been very slow, I think I’m finally at a stage where I’m happy. I’m able to curl up the ends in a Victorian gentleman/melodrama villain/Russian Gypsy/Evil dictator kind of way, which is all I ever wanted, lol! I will keep growing it until a couple of my other goals are complete, which will inevitably take quite a long time, but I’m happy with leaving the moustache. I might upload a picture if I’m feeling brave..

The people have voted and over the course of the next month I will be seeking to emulate the facial hair stylings of Australian fast-bowling legend Merv Hughes. Each night I will take a photo of my progress and animate the end result into a very short video so you can see the tache grow. Clean shaven today.

I finally got around to it! Not only am I doing something I have always not-so-secretly dreamed of, but I’m doing it for a good cause – prostate cancer research. During the month of Movember (not a misspelling) I will be growing the tache to help fight the biggest cause of cancer deaths amongst men. Here’s the best part – you can vote on the moustache as long as you make a donation.

Getting a bit annoyed with my moustache now… I was growing a beard at the same time so that I didn’t look entirely like the stereotypical paedophile, but have had to shave the beard shorter due to general itchiness and discomfort (and the fact it looked horrible). I did leave the moustache alone though, but I think it will have to go within the next week because I’m going on holiday. I think this goal is basically complete; although it’s not a very impressive moustache, it is still a moustache!

I am in the process of growing a moustache, but it’s so slow! I don’t think I’m ready to grow one really. It doesn’t look great at the moment, and I’ve had a few people comment on it (negatively. I work in a pub, lol) but having said that, I’ve had more people, male and female, smiling at me in recent days than ever before, I think the appearance of a moustache still has a positive effect on everyone and, for that reason, I’m sticking with it for as long as I possibly can! I want to twirl the ends of my moustache in triumph at the end :{)
Note to self, buy moustache wax, lol :P

Once a symbol of manliness, the stache has been relegated to represent the cricket pitch and 70’s adult entertainment. I might tie this into my motorbike road trip through central america. We’re talking swashbuckling wax tips!
