Work in Fashion

This is more of a long term goal rather than something I want to achieve quickly. I want to get my Bachelor of arts first. At the same time i want to get into the industry by working part time for fashoin outlets/stores etc, find my feet and learn what I can this way before making any decisions about how to take it further. It is definitely my passion and the industry I want to work in for the future.

Also would consider it accomplished if I ever modeled or took a fashion photograph.

I know this is not really congruent with all of my goals in academia, but I love fashion and shopping and would enjoy doing visual merchandising or being an editorial assistant for a fashion magazine. Will consider it accomplished after working in any capacity for any clothing company more fashionable than VF and SBS.

I would love to be in fashion merchandising. Maybe become a fashion buyer for a large company like Saks/Bloomingdales/barney’s?? who knows where i will end up, but picking out the way ppl should dress is a passion of mine. I could be a great personal stylist too, but ik that field is much harder to excel in, and the money can be weak at first…

Recently, I had the opportunity to take photos at a high fashion event for a fashion magazine. The chance of a lifetime, I realized that I love, not only photography, but working in fashion. Still exploring if fashion magazine is the route I want to take or possibly fashion runway. I of course am not a model – but love working with the models, putting together the clothes and helping keeping the show organized. Thanks to Amy at Saks, I am able to sometimes play the role of Lauren Conrad.

Fashion is my passion (it even rhymes..), I think it’s one of the only things I’m passionate enough about to want to spend my life doing it. I’d love to be a buyer or a stylist.

I’m getting really close to doing this and I’m so excited about it!

I have never in my life experienced such selfish spoiled people in all my life as those who work in the Fashion industry. If you can get passed it, then I am sure it’s a wonderful world. But day in and day out to get a line out to the public is work that most of the people either a) don’t want to do or b) are too stupid to realize what needs to be done.

worth doing for sure….though like most things, the reality of doing this is pretty different than what i thought it would be. worthwhile nontheless.
