Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Straha"getting started"

I am currently working on the theme/topic for my new site. I would like it to be a blend of projects I am working on now, combined with stuff I have done in the past.

In addition, I want it to have a very active blog element. 12 months ago

Straha"i meant well"

I was really focused on starting the new blog/website, but my new job and civilian transition got in the way. Things are starting to settle down a bit, so I am resetting my start date. I am going to scrub 2013, and roll out my blog/website January of next year.

It feels like a bit of a cop out push to 2014, but I want a quality product. With the demands of work, I can’t deliver the quality I want. That should change when I get a bit more organized. Also, the Xmas break is an excellent time to focus on the blog kickoff. 14 months ago

Straha"01 August"

Have set this as the kickoff date for my new blog. The blog will be loosely centered on models, puzzles, prop building and restoration work. Once I get the blog going, I will set up a website focused on my writing and film work. Looking to make the most of what’s left of 2013. 17 months ago

Straha"tear it down"

Just took down my last blog, which fell into disrepair due to my deployment. I looked it over, and I am just not feeling it. I will come up with something later, but I don’t feel like having a blog for now.

Also, this site is actually a pretty cool platform to blog on. It will suffice until I am ready to blog for real on specific topics. 23 months ago

I’ve started a blog on building models, puzzles, and various hobby stuff. It isn’t much, but I want to document any progress I make. Also, I’m hoping it motivates me to paint more.

The plan is to blog weekly. I have three blog entries, and will write a fourth today. 3 years ago
