Sketching with pencil, since I’m running out of good water paper.

I like to draw in pastels, but they are so dang messy! The dust gets everywhere, and makes more of a mess when I try to clean it up. I did get some craft sealant from Michaels, so I want to do more with pastes, now that I have a way to preserve the work.

Hmm, yes. I think the answer is… maybe.

    My usual watercolor.

Its been a while since I’ve done any cross-hatching. I’m really in love with this hot pink pen. I remember why I hate to cross-hatch: it makes my hand cramp up.

I haven’t been painting lately, since I’m so busy with school. In fact, I should be writing finals RIGHT NOW!

Here’s me with some stars. I’m trying to get used to painting glasses on my face. They’re a pain, but I can’t really see without them anymore. This one is acrylic on homemade paper.

Aww, this is just too cute.

I’m always happier with the results when I do a non-realistic style.

I had fun painting this different shades of yellow, orange, red, purple, and blue.

Alright, I’ve been painting, but not uploading. I should really upload directly after painting like usual. Now this is about 4 weeks old and I can’t remember my original thoughts about it.

    The nose is all wrong.

Heh, the first thing I thought of when I stepped back and looked at this was “Dubya”. Why does this look like the president? Probably because I’ve been out of practice for the past three months, and this is my punishment.

My loyal subscribers (snort) might notice the lack of black line, which is usually a key element in my paintings. I was trying to create a more 3-D look by eliminating it, and focusing on using color to create divisions. First I laid down a base of tan, added color for shadows and took away color for highlights. Then I started adding reds and blues for different skin pigments. I’m beyond thrilled with the left ear. My technique worked! As for the rest of the face, I cannot say.

NOTE: My hair is getting longer.
