Thomas Kinkade Stone Hearth Hutch Waterfall 23 months ago

I bought this lovely Christmas decoration at a thrift store a couple years back and decided this year to take it out for Christmas. I paid $9 for it and it’s in mint condition. No chips, pump works great, and lights work! It’s so lovely and the waterfall sounds soothing. It goes very well with my Christmas decor theme. I wasn’t sure if I wanted it at first and I made the show me the pump working before buying. I’m so glad I decided to buy it as now I love it!

It sells for 89.99 online (though less expensive used on EBay) Here is a description of it:

Polar Bear and clear stones from thrift store... 23 months ago

I bought this little glass polar bear for 99 cents and all those clear stones for 50 cents. They made a great Christmas centerpiece. Too cute! I want to find more winter animals like this.

set of china from thrift store for 4.99 23 months ago

I got this a thrift store just after Christmas. It’s a very lovely set with no chips or cracks… I love the detail!

books, books, books... 2 years ago

I’ve scored tons of inexpensive books at thrift stores. As a teacher I collect children’s literature but have obtained way too many to mention. One that I love is my 366 Goodnight Stories. It give a tale/poem for each day of the year! It even includes leap year! It is an old, large, hardcover and the illustrations are too cute! My husband and I enjoy looking up the tales on the days of friends birthdays!

games, games, games... 2 years ago

I’ve scored tons of cheap games at thrift stores. I’ve obtained Scotland Yard, Monopoly, LOTR Monopoly, Uno Cards and all sorts of complete card decks and card games as well as several other board games and a complete poker set! I’ve also obtained many educational flash card sets like, Know Your Plants, Know Your Animals, Know Your Trees, Nature Activities, Magic Tricks, etc.

    Holiday Decorations 2 years ago

I’ve found some very nice and inexpensive holiday decorations at a local thrift store. I love these heavy stone? bunnies and I bought a heavy set of cast iron black witches too. You never know what unique decorations you will find. I’ve found some really spooky old black wooden frames for my Halloween The Birds theme pictures and I purchased a Jack the Ripper collectible figure too ($7)!

various glass pieces/vases 2 years ago

thrift stores are great places to pick up 25 cent vases. I never buy a vase when I purchase flowers for friends/family. I get the flowers and set them up in my own vases and deliver them myself. Saves a ton of money and an old vintage vase is the perfect gift! Every time I visit my Mother I take her flowers in vases that I’ve found. She always loves them. I bought her a pink glass vase that matches her dining room and put the most beautiful arrangement of purple, red, wine, and pink roses and lavender in it. It was stunning!

old round or wooden puzzles 2 years ago

I love picking up cheap puzzles at rummage sales/thrift stores. Here is one pictured. Mark and I enjoy doing puzzles but have never bought a brand new one. We always get ours at thrift stores… I love these old round ones. One of the fun bits about buying at thrift stores is it’s always exciting to see if the puzzle will be complete or not :-) Another puzzle we got that I really like is a wooden puzzle of each state in the USA.

chairs are also a great deal... 2 years ago

here is one chair I’ve bought at a thrift store for $8. I like it as it’s very comfy. I just need to have it reupholstered or buy some sort of fabric to cover it as it’s sort of ugly pattern. It’s not in bad condition overall though. Also, it’s base legs are all real wood! I’m not sure if I’ll leave them brown or paint them black or white. It depends what colour fabric I cover it in. The white dish is also from a thrift store.
