make music

i write my own songs…then sing them, lol. ive been doing it for about 3 years now. im 17 years old. Ive just always loved music and writing about things that matter. my biggest inspiration is john mayer. but ive also been inspired by oasis, ive listened to oasis ever since i was born. there music is outstanding:)

If I were a one man band, that’s how I’d play it… maybe beat the acoustic a bit, too to add bass to my vocal percussion…

Music means everything to me. I discovered that I had a “talent” when I was around 9 or 10 when I started making up songs on the piano. I then joined band in middle school and played a trumpet. I was actually very good at it but the peer pressure in school eventually took over and I took my last band class my first semester of high school.
I never stopped playing music at home. Sometime during all of this I was introduced to bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Yaz, Erasure, OMD, The Smiths. I got my first keyboard, and then my second before high school. I would write my own “new wave” music and sing and had a great time. Life wasn’t always fun in school but I was able to escape all of that while doing music. This is still true today.
I eventually studied music again in college. I was in a band for a short time. This was all great. But now I have a 8-5 job. I am not really happy with the course my life is taking. If only I would have been more ambitious and less self conscious perhaps I could have done something in the music industry. I am a 35 year old now. I know I’ll never be a rock star and I’m really okay with that. I just wish I would have done something with my life that I can be proud of and really have a passion for. I don’t want to be at the end of my life with so many regrets.
I am going to continue to make music for my own enjoyment and peace of mind.

I haven’t made music for years, but I’m working on a new song. It’s harder than I expected to organize the notes together, but I think it will work out.

I started writing and playing around with some new ideas for songs today. I’m really excited about this, and I want to get something together right away. I wat to play some local shows again! I miss being on stage, it’s so scary and amazing at the same time. Even if there’s 3 people in a shitty run down hall, I just want to get out and play again.
