How I did it: Transferred my domain name to a cheaper web host, on the recommendation of a friend. Deleted my previous Wordpress blog/webpage because it just wasn't working for me.Found a fantastic Wordpress template called "Fotofolio" and went through the process of getting this up and running on my domain and host. Spent a lot of time in the Fotofolio forums, getting some help on specific problems. There are some really nice, really… Read how I did it…

How I did it: * I want www.mybeforeandafter.info to be a popular website that people visit frequently. * So, I searched the web and discovered what made my favorite websites enjoyable to use.* I then decided what components I wanted my site to include:- Blog- Forum- Gallery- Store* After which, I added the above components via my web hosting company (for free at Fatcow.com!)* Lastly, I personalized everything and link… Read how I did it…

Today I added a blog, a forum, a photo gallery and an online store to my website ( http://www.mybeforeandafter.info )
Now I’ve got to add some content to the blog (I’d like to transfer some of my 43thing posts over if possible). I’d also like to recruit some online friends who’ve lost weight themselves to submit their photos and stories so they can be featured in the Before & After Gallery.
My biggest goal is to drive traffic to my site be engaging in interesting topics on the Before & After Forum. I know there is a lot to discuss when it comes to health and weight loss, I’ve just got to get people to the forum so it can take off.
Ever since I initially made my website, I’ve kept the exact same css stylesheet which is tremendously ugly. Green and green and blue. I’ve talked to numerous people who have said that they’ve had trouble finding links on my website because the mouseover code isn’t that intuitive on my site.
I’m not that good with knowing what colors to put on the site, and I haven’t had tons of experience making websites, so I don’t really know what works and what doesn’t.
It will involve learning some additional skills. Right now, the only program I know is Adobe GoLive. I like it because it is simple. And I like my website because it is simple. I didn’t want to clutter it with unnecessary gadgets or doodads.
However, I think it lacks some style or more of my personality. I’m fond of my logo because it has personal meaning to me. pictured It is robot girl. My site is called ‘Make Art Every Day’ and although I fall short of that goal on many days, it is a mantra for me.
I’m a bit stuck here and until I figure out how to make the site more memorable and fun to return to… I’ll leave it as is.

kind of a cheap shot…but meh :P
1. A better title graphic, preferabally custom made instead of the current stock image.
2. Create pages for my various hobbies and interests in my personal bio section. This goes especially strongly for my nature photography.
I’m happy to have my own domain and like the way my design turned out. More updates to come but the major overall is complete.
I’ve made an update to my site which has now moved to http://davewknight.com/ and is hosted by DreamHost. I’ve backed off on using WordPress for the entire site and instead only use it for my blog portion of the website.
Although there are many continous updates and probably a few fixes to be made, I feel my website has improved greatly from where it started.
