I got it in 1992. Just remember that a black belt is not the arrival, but only the beginning. Keep on exercising and you will get to it. Good Luck. Cristina

Definitely worth doing. Getting my black belt was almost as good as winning a high profile tournament.

Learning Judo was a great influence for me. Not so much because of the sport, but because of my Sensei. Mac (Dominick McCarthy) was an amazing man. He inspired many people and encouraged hundreds of young people to achieve and to improve themselves.
He believed in Zen Judo which focused on the non-competitive elements of the art. Peace of mind, improved physical and mental fitness … practising to become better.
started taking Judo at 7 years old, it was always just part of my life. Haven’t worked out for a few years as family has taken a higher priority, but have started to get the itch to train again. Keep up the training, it’s something you don’t just forget and makes for a healthy lifestyle.
God Bless.
damn – haven’t been for a couple of months. been busy in the evenings, and the class is late, so clashes with my early starts for work. When things settle down (hopefully very early January…) I’ll get back, although I’m not going to achieve my resolution of achieving my brown belt in 2005.
