youradork101 is dieting :)
starting now im going to not eat any fast food for a full 30 days. so im going to start now and since is 12 pm im going to add an extra day at the end :) hopefully i can do it.
How I did it: I went shopping for groceries and resisited the greesiness of fast food. I found more ideas for meals. I'm sure that it was much better for my body.
Lessons & tips: Home cooked meals are better for you. Fastfood adds on extra weight that you won't even realize till you stop eating it. You will lose some pounds, it did for me. You should really stay away from people who find loops holes around your goal. They are truly the worst. I delt with some of those ppl. But I firmly said 'no,' no matter how many excuses they made. You should not be tempted by them. That's the biggest thing. Also, if you fall, don't worry, just start over. Trust me, once you get to the end, you'll feel great
Resources: Just home cooked meals and shopping for real food.

I will have gone 39 days without fastfood
though, i have a confession that’s been on my mind
after pumpkin picking my mom wanted to go out to lunch
and i said no.
so she drags me to a Chickflia with my stomach growling
So she’s trying to get me to order (she is the ultimate ‘isnt this a loophole if i bring it home…or just this once?’ person
she has been my nitemare and my temptation and my frustration
but when the dude asked for my order all i got was a large diet lemonade
not a single french fry
she kept trying to get me to eat her french fries
and i was dying for food
when i got home, i made lunch, so hungry
and that, i am proud to say, is my only confession
and her friend Mary is just as bad
theyre about to bring Mexican food home
and i told them i was too close to my goal to just give it up
and she was like, cant it be like not restaurant food since we brought it home?
THAT’S CALLED TAKEOUT.
but I’m done for now
i need to check on dinner
=)
I’m very happy to be almost at the end of my goal

I’m dying here for fried food.
I can think of soooo many things I just want to hop in my car and go get some fast food
but I’m not giving up….I can’t…
I have to find something in this house I can make that isnt fried fish from Wendys….or a corn dog from Sonic….Or chicken nuggets from Arbys….omg…wut will i do with myself?
When I get going to North Carolina for Thanksgiving, it shall be HEAVEN with all the crap I will eat.
Okay, so here i am, NOT going to fast food.
Oh, and I stopped eating fast food for good on October 15th.
so I’m almost to my 30 days…and then a few extra days =)
DoctorTeeth says, "Oh Sky Cake, why are you so delicious?"
Yesterday was my 30th day without fast food. It wasn’t always easy, because part of the appeal of fast food is that it’s quick and abundant for lazy people on the go, and I am one of those. But I exercised my willpower and powered through, and although I didn’t always like it – and I didn’t always eat “well” despite the lack of fast food – I managed to avoid the greasetraps that line my roads and walkways. And the burger I had tonight was just deeeelicious. So, it was worth it as an exercise in self-control.

Technically, more than halfway there. I was talking to my wife about what I was going to do on day thirty-one, which was eat a delicious hamburger. “I was thinking about just a good old double-cheese from McD’s,” I said, “but then I thought, ‘If I’m going to have one hamburger as a reward, it had better be a really good one.’ So I’m thinking a hamburger from a slightly better restaurant.”
She frowned. “So, what, you have thirty days fast-food free and then you just start eating hamburgers again?”
“No,” I said. “The whole point of this was to prove to myself that even though I have a busy schedule and am driving around a lot, I don’t have to stop at fast-food restaurants to eat. I can eat better if I just put a little effort into it. So I can remind myself and not get into the bad habits again.” And that’s when I realized exactly why I had picked this goal in the first place: because I can use this experience when I get hungry and happen to be driving past a burger joint. That I can make better choices.
“Good,” she said.

I’ve fallen off the wagon.
It was last Friday that i went to the State Fair. and i thought, well, i could give myself a pass on that. it IS the state fair after all. It only comes once a year.
but no. the next night, something happened with a guy whom i was already broken up with. and our fight managed to make me order 60 dollars worth of Chinese.
yeah…..
so i thought, how about a pass? I’ve always used Chinese as a comfort food. and the pain was really bad.
well, a few nights later, i was driving by a Chickflia and couldnt take it. so i got chicken nuggets and a diet lemonade.
no excuses this time.
I’ve had Mc’ds since. only twice. i just got my wisdom teeth out, so i was trying to eat solid foods.
and of course tropical smoothie.
SO, i need to start over it seems. But not until I’ve healed completely. b/c i may have another one of those kids meal cheese burgers….the ones where i have to spit the pickles out b/c its too chewy for me xp
I would like to give it up till Thanksgiving.
My except?
Starbucks.
don’t worry, I’m not a junkie there. I get Alice in Wonderland Migraines and had to give up my addiction to coffee. he also said chocolate…but i laughed at him…
But the reason for this, is its the month of October and soon November. and all i would like to order occsionally are the quat drinks. THe pumpkin spice latte, gingerbread latte, peppermint latte, and the eggnog latte (you should try that with the chi tea. its soooo good)
i think thats the right tea….
aneways, well, maybe not the peppermint cause thats more Christmas.
okay, trois.
but, thats may exception this time =)
Wish me luck.
didnt me to write this much…maybe it was the pain pills….

On my walk to the grocery store this afternoon, I distinctly smelled McDonalds’ french fries in the air. The closest McDonalds was over a block away from where I was. I don’t know if it’s that I haven’t had any fries in ten days or if you can always smell them from that far away, but while they did smell tempting, they didn’t smell tempting enough for me to go and get any. Self-control!

And I haven’t eaten any fast food! I had a moment of panic over the weekend, though, thinking I may have inadvertently failed only five days in. A short transcript of a conversation I had with my wife in bed on Sunday night:
Me: Oh crap, I had a little of Scott’s leftover ice cream cake from Dairy Queen today. Does that count as fast food?
Wife: (Mumbles.) What?
Me: Did I break my “no fast food for thirty days” streak?
Wife: How big was it?
Me: Not very.
Wife: (Going back to sleep.) Then I don’t think so.
And I have had multiple opportunities to stop at a McD’s or other such burger joint, but I have restrained myself. (I have, sadly, eaten junk food, though. I love me some potato chips.) So one week down and I’m fast-food-free! Only twenty-three more days to go!

My wife’s grandmother died yesterday evening, and for the past few days we’d been going to the palliative care unit a lot, not eating dinner on time, and then grabbing a burger or something on the way home. I had fast food at least once every day this week. Add to that the fact that I’m eating The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan, who doesn’t have much good to say about fast food, and I’m getting even more determined to lose some weight and get in shape, and this goal is a no-brainer.
I do worry that the term “fast food” is a little vague, though. So I think I need to be a little firmer and more overt with things. Bearing that in mind, here is a list of all the restaurants I will NOT be eating at from October 1 to October 30: McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Arby’s, A&W, Harvey’s, Dairy Queen, Panago, Pizza 73, Pizza Hut, Chicago Deep Dish, and Tim Horton’s. I’ll add more if I think of some, but that’s a pretty good list off the top of my head.

this is gonna be hard for me
I go through a drive through at least once a day. sometimes twice.
it’s just easy for me to grab food b/c i dont like to cook as much.
But starting today, since i havent gone out today, i will not eat fast food! that includes restaurants.
The only thing that is an exception to the rule is Tropical Smoothie. I only get their smoothies with splenda…all the low cal stuff. none of that dessert smoothies or sandwiches.
okay, okay, i may get a dessert smoothie. i have an excuse! lalaladododo. im getting my wisdom teeth out pretty soon. and ive always wanted to try those dessert smoothies. so there =p
But no more Chickfila…bu-bye Waffle House…Arby’s, Dairy Queen (sad thing is, they all recognize and know me from going there so much) and aneother fast food place. including subway, b/c i will cave when i see the cookies…
