climb the 7 summits

My intention is to climb the Seven Summits that Dick Bass did, when he became the first to ever even consider doing so. Once I’ve done his seven, I’ll think about adding Carstenz Pyramid. To make the whole thing interesting, my goal is to climb all seven with my daughter.

My daughter has a fascination with Everest, but that will be the last on the list, if it ever even becomes a reality.

Our current (Looong) itinerary is as follows.

• Kosciuszko (whenever we have a week and few thousand dollars)
• Kilimanjaro (2008) (she’ll be 12 – KINAPA minimum age)
• Elbrus (2009)
• Aconcagua (2010) (Minimum age 14)
• Denali (2011)
• Vinson Massif (2012)
• Everest (2013)

The goal is not to be the first to do anything, or the youngest/oldest to do anything, but just DO IT.

Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Denali in North America, Aconcagua in South America, Elbrus in Europe, Carstensz Pyramid in Oceania (that’s Australia), Vinson Massif in Antarctica, and of course Everest in Asia. Yes it’s an ego builder.
