is very prone to overexposure and today I made myself sit down with the camera manual to give myself a refresher course on how to use some of the more advanced settings to try and get a better result. I was happy with how this shot turned out.

BohoVixen is through darkness, I find light.
I have four camera – fisheye, Nikon SLR, Canon Rebel XTi and a Canon Powershot. One of them, if not two or three, are always with me. I’m looking to become more professional and sell small pieces of my work in the form of prints or cards. We shall see…
I got up the photos from nonna and capnemos recent trip to Japan last night. Of the ones I took I am most pleased with my geisha photos and the photo above, of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (I think it’s the longest suspension bridge in the
world?). You can see the full set here.
When we went down to Shiraishi Island I didn’t take all that many photos – a few on the first afternoon. On the final morning I woke up early and it was drizzling with rain. Despite the less-than-ideal conditions (ie. juggling umbrella and camera!) I still managed to get a few extra shots I was happy with. You can see them all here.
Our new (old) digital SLR has its quirks but I feel like I’m starting to figure out how to get the most out of it. Yesterday B and I took a trip out to Mt. Shosha, somewhere I’ve wanted to go for awhile, and took a heap of photos. You can see the best of them here. It was nice to take a break from the writing and breathe in some fresh, mountain air.
recent photos here, from last weekend in Kyoto. We were lucky enough to see a few geisha in Gion too. The key seems to be getting there around 4:30, when they start to make their way to appointments.
the new camera. I took a heap of photo’s in Australia but not many made it onto flickr. You can see the album here
