I am currently a teacher in the English Department of Guiyang University in Guiyang, Guizhou, China. Our school is also the location of the Wang Yang Ming Institute. This year, 2008, is the 500th anniversary of Wang Yang Ming’s coming to Guizhou province where he was able to take more time to write and develop his thought.
I am interested in pursuing a PhD in this area. Does anyone have any ideas on this goal?

Before considering the options available to me, I think I need to develop a statement regarding the areas of research I am considering. This can help me narrow down the options of which schools to apply to and help guide any application documents I might need to create… right now I am considering research in the history of philosophy – or something more interdisciplinary. I might need to discuss my ideas with faculty at CUCA to get a better grasp on where to go with my interests…

I should review application process for a few universities and see if I would qualify or need some more courses.
