move out of Illinois

Sanjay and I are very interested in getting out of the Mid-west. I have been here my whole life and he has been here for too long (his Oregonian body cannot handle it). We made sound tenative plans “lets plan on planning to move” ha!

This is the view from my mom’s back patio. Can’t wait to move to Florida! We’re planning to put the house on the market October 1st. Keep your fingers crossed for me…

Remember Jon Lovitz in “The Wedding Singer”? “He’s losing his mind… and I’m reaping all the benefits…” That’s how I feel these days. My mom is going through hell trying to decide whether or not to start proceedings for her third divorce, but in her misery, she’s throwing money at my debt problems and in the process offering me a chance to (finally) move out of IL. If she leaves my stepdad (and she should), she’s moving to St. Pete, FL, and she’s determined that she can’t start her life over without me there. The truth? Whether or not she moves, I’m going. My little brother is starting at the Art Institute in Tampa in the fall, and I plan to be there so soon as I can. I’ve spent about half my life dreaming of getting out of IL, but one thing after another has prevented it. Now it seems the end is finally in sight. I’ll be moving out of IL within a year. I’ve already started sorting through my stuff. (I know, I know. It’s a bit premature.) The rule of thumb for 2008 is: If I don’t want to move it to FL, I ain’t buying it.
