This could be a wonderful parlour bass solution: very cool for portability, volume, range and timbre.
Okay, I know it’s fantasy but they do still make them
How I did it: Being in a band is not something that we (my best friend, Rebecca, and I) tried to make happen. We both loved playing and making music, and people thought we had potential and encouraged us to perform outside of our house. We started with open mic nights, then eventually were asked to play small venues like coffee houses and fundraisers. I really don't think a band can work out unless it's with your best friend(s). Even if it's not necessary, it's definitely incredibly helpful, because you're on the same page all the time, and can make decisions for the band if other aren't there to offer their opinion. Being in a band has given me and my best friend more confidence, given us something to work towards, and it's awesome to see people appreciate our music. Btw - our band's name is Strophe. :D

Ah, probably this will never emerge from my dreams but I would assemble a band to play in parlours and at picnics; also charity variety shows (if the venue allowed us to avoid amplification).
Line-up:i’ve been a singer in various bands, rock and blues, for years…and only this past year have i not done it. i miss it, and hope to find some musicians to get together with from time to time and do it again.
