Aesthemeister Relaxing, Resting, and Recreating after a Grueling Semester

I’ve just not had the time to practice at all. I don’t much fancy doing it anymore either. This may change, but this may also be one of those things that you take up at one time and really really want to do, but then just stop wanting to do anymore at some point. I may have reached that point. I’m not sure though. I think I still want to do it, but it is just that other things crowd it out, so it feels like I don’t, even though I really do.

I know a little bit of this (from high school and self-taught), and I have a book and supplies, and even a desk to do it on, it’s just a matter of making time for it.

This is one area of the cultivation of beauty that is as old as writing itself, at least in Chinese culture. It picked up in European cultures and Middle Eastern cultures later on, and has very highly developed forms in all of these cultures. My favorite styles to practice are squarish and strong stroke styles for Chinese, and any sort of monkish fast writing style for Roman letters.

I love writing in calligraphy it is so much fun, but I’m left handed so it adds this whole new level of difficulty for me, but I want to become really good at it
