be a better sister and keep in touch

in a crazy unexpected change of events i’ve become closer, emotionally and phsyically, with my sister than i’ve been possibly ever. she moved right near me in georgia and we are getting to know each other again. it is so great to see her every day!

need to write a letter. she sent me a handwritten card, the second this year. i owe her back….i should probably schedule a date to write these cards because i never seem to want to do it at home there is always other stuff to do. maybe the coffee shop.

What started out as a birthday “camping” trip in November is becoming a family tradition this year. We usually rent a cabin up in the mountains for my daughter and she always wants to invite a lot of people, again this year we are making it a family thing and inviting all of my brothers and sisters and their kids. I’m not sure who will make it but at least they know I’m thinking of them and want to spend time with them.

I’ve started texting my brothers when I have not much to say. I think they like it, they always respond.

as our relationship changes little texts have allowed us to communicate in a short sweet non ackward way and let the other know we are thinking of them.

Emailed all the brothers and sisters-in-law tonight…short but sweet, gotta start somewhere.

argh…not doing so great on this one. need to wrangle up a visit.

when we text eachother, its good. when we chat on phone, usually good. we should stick to that for a while.

similar disappointments. she’s good with me when we’re on our own, but when around parents its bad. she gets defensive and yells at them. i wish i’d gone to ecuador instead (except i have no money) because there wasn’t too much that was relaxing about the vacation :)

just spent xmas with her…she still has blowups and acts like a spoiled brat, no really. i hate watching her make my mom cry. the saddest bit of it is its as if all she wants from them is stuff and money. she never offers to help otu with anything, is manipulative and crys if she doesn’t get her way. otherwise she spends most of the day back in her room watching crappy reality tv about shallow hollywood teenyboppers while the rest of us have lunch. argh, it is frustrating because she needs someone to show her limits, what is and is not ok, but i feel my parents are not good enough at it.
