So much to do
For Warhammer 40K I have a Space Marine (Legion of the Damned) army, an Ork (Speed Freek) army, and a Necron army. For Warhammer Fantasy I have a Lizardman army.
NONE OF THEM ARE DONE! I’m able to play games with the Space Marines, and small games with the Necrons, but none of the armies are ‘finished’. If I can get what I have painted or disposed of for an army, and it’s a legal army at that point, I’ll consider it “done” for purposes of this goal. I’ll probably always want one more unit or one more model, but right now each army has more unfinished models than finished.
Step #1: STOP BUYING MORE MINIATURES. Paint what I’ve got. I’ve pretty much managed this, though occasionally I’ll find stuff on sale for cheap that I can’t pass up.
Step #2: FOCUS ON ONE ARMY. With the new Ork codex, I’ve decided to knuckle down and make Da Orks my focus. Evil Sunz!

new brushes

i bought some new paint brushes which i am in love with (though not as much as the synthetic squirrel hair brush i use for water colors) and it’s making it easier to paint. of course i need to get the wood elf stuff out of the trunk and work on them some more, but my hunny’s stuff is taking over the computer room right now. we’re (my bad…I’M) trying to get everything cleaned up. we’ll see how the painting goes when i have an actual place to do it.

So, last night I glued my cold one knights on their bases and primed them. Either tonight or over the weekend I will start the painting process. So, on my way to my goal! =)

So, I have finally found the perfect pink paint for my Druchii. I am still in the process of collecting my Dark Elves. The latest addition was my beloved Witch Elves. I’m going to be painting them in black, hot pink and silver.

so bored...

i’ve got the colors down and my first project is to get the dryads done. i’ve got five (of 45) done with the first two coats. next i have to paint their leaves, eyes, and loin clothes. of couse i still have quite a few to prime and paint with those first two coats before i move on to those next details. i also thought it would look cool to give a few more of them some embelishments (owls and fairies and whatnot) before i get them primed. i’ll post pics when i have a few nice looking ones finished.
next i have to strip all of my tree kin (as i hate the first attempt i made at painting them) and in the mean time i’ll work on my tree man and possible my branch wraiths, though they look like a pain to make look nice. then on to those tree kin to give them another go.

my ideas for my paints scheme keep changing. so i need to start doing test models to figure out what i like. eventually, i swear, i’ll get this worked out, hopefully without having to strip and repaint the whole army twelve times, lol.

4scension is developing his own ecstatic cult.
My High Elven team, The Solnova Sorcerers, is finished!
I’m finally done! Rock ON!
Now all I have to do is find someone else who wants to play.

i’ve pretty much got the paint scheme down now…two are done and three are waiting for green. the tree kin are painted in different colors of brown and at the roots and limbs they’re painted a light sage-y green that i blend with the brown and add a bit of green on the body and face to give them a mossed over look. my mother-in-law says she thinks they’re looking pretty good…all i really need to do is figure out what i want to do for basing (the tree kin i got already based, but i definately need to figure out something for the tree man…any ideas?) because having them based is part of the bet. i’ll edit the entry later to include a picture of my first two models and mabee you can let me know what you think.

after quite some time bouncing around trying to decide what army to play and painting random models for the fun of it, i’ve finally decided on my first official army (which i got for free because my sweetie traded things he didn’t want to get them for me)—wood elves. we both play them, he deals mostly with the actual elves and i use forest spirits. i’ve been highly unmotivated to do much work on them until recently (we just made a bet as to whether or not i could finish paint my tree man and tree kin in the two weeks that he’ll be out of town—he comes back the 15th, so wish me luck because i get a cool prize if i win), mainly because i’m doing a heavy conversion on the dryads with daemonette bodies and my tree man keeps falling apart. after coming up with a solution to the tree man issue (glue on one bit, glue on the other bit, green stuff in the middle, and a shot of zip kicker) i’m ready to get these guys knocked out. i have a plan for the scheme on the tree kin at least, which i’m testing out tonight…though i may need to strip my test model a few times before i get it right. i’m going for a greyish brown as the base coat and accenting it with a mossy/sage green around the roots and ends. that’s all i can think to do right now, unless i see some cool looking paint jobs when i cruise over to cool mini or not. if it turns out well i’ll post a picture.

After years of trying to choose and finish and army presently I find myself collecting Eldar. Really cool models. I have painted one Guardian and am half way through another two.
