How I did it: I was a little slow when it came to deciding what career path I wanted to take. I've worked in a library since I was 16, but it took me until my junior year of undergraduate to decide that I wanted to pursue a career as a librarian. Senior year: off went the applications for library science programs!
How I did it? A lot of all nighters, missing out on hanging out with friends, regretting later when I did opt to see friends instead of working on the paper due later that week and pulling another all nighter.
I found working in a library while going to school for library science extremely helpful. I already had five years of experience with a lot of the topics that were being discussed.
I finished my program in a year and a half by going full time and working part time. I've actually been done with school since December, but walked today for my parents. It was a very big deal for my dad. I'm the first in my family to get a Master's degree (also the first to get a Bachelor's as well)! Now they're asking me if I'm going on for my Doctorate, but I think I'm done for the moment. :) Read how I did it… 2 years ago
