I can tell you that having your MCSE, in a lot of cases, will HURT you more than it’ll help. Unfortunately, there are so many MCSEs out there who know only what is required to pass the exams that anyone holding the cert will be associated with their level of incompetence.
You’re better off just building your resume without it. If you still feel like you should have the certification, don’t put it at the top of your resume. Instead, put it at the bottom, so as not to make it look like you’re presenting it as your primary qualification.
Michiel. is Michiel is Michiel is Michiel.
I’ve been an enterprise admin for years and I’ve been so busy I completely missed out on this. Maybe it’s overrated but still, some employers ask for it. Then again, my track record usually overcomes their doubts. Raw experience has its merits ;)

simpilot asks,
“I'm first going for my A+ certification and going from there. I really just want to start a small business fixing folks computers and doing some small business stuff. Am I on the right track?”
