pre-existing framed photo art laminated to pressboard purchased at thrift stores will be further water-proofed with decking supplies and other protective coating methods and then secured in various outdoor places to induce reflection.
this first piece is a large photo of a New England forest in Fall, with a small lake in the background and a cabin on the right, secured to a tree in a small wood in Chewslanding, NJ.
this art project will continue indefinitely, with all found framed laminated photo art under $10 being purchased for use, or under $15 if i am gainfully employed and relatively debt-free.
i am looking forward to future juxtapositions of subject matter and posting environment.

so i started my next art experiment, and it seems to be going really well.
i’ve only posted my flyers around the bu campus thus far, but i’ll continue to expand the range into more areas of boston & cambridge
not many folks are ripping off the tabs and going to the websites, but actually that’s a lie, hah – there’s been 79 different people to the site, with a total of about 107 pageviews (for the first page only) in the past two days, :D
so i’m pretty sure this has been a huge success, cause this means that more than those 79 people looked at and took a little time to notice the flyer & it’s contents – perhaps double, or triple that amount – and i’m sure that’s had some sort of effect, hehe
yeah, we’ll see what happens as i post more aboot the toon
fun! heh

i’ve made some other nifty things between now and then – i drew a portrait & made a paper frame for my friend sarah for her birthday (she didn’t like it, cause i can’t draw faces too good, yet), and some random thought scribblings about race & gender on desktops [ie: i bet some arabs are canadians, too; or how come men always wear skirts and girls always wear ties?], and of course random internet/computer art – but yeah, here is an update on the door, :1
post script/addendum — you can’t see the colors all that great, but there’s a good deal of detail on the ground thus far – i’m taking it slow and gradually filling it in with all the appropriate colors, :D

so i’ve made my room pretty much awesome. heh, see picture to the completed goal “pare down my belongings” – and i got an idea for a painting in my sleep – one about education…
the basic idea is that education is a series of opening doors… and that after you open a door, you see an expanded horizon – until you realize that this, too, is just another door.
so the idea is that there is simply a series of doors, all with horizons painted on them – perhaps with a slowly rising sun to mark the passing of time
in order to do this, i’m going to create a horizon on my bedroom door
since i only have one door, i’m showing multiple suns to portray the whole concept.
i was going to paint it, but the door itself has a lot of ‘character’ and jenny offered to let me use her colored pencils, and i think it’ll be PeRfEct for creating my image while keeping all the current quirks of the door, :)!
