learn to be more patient

I’m having a big problem with patients in my life I don’t know how to become more patient. My boyfriend hates how I treat him and doesn’t know if he can handle being with me anymore, but I’m not trying to treat him bad I just get angry very easily and don’t think before I lash out at people. My friend thinks I shouldn’t change for him. His girlfriend is the same way impatient and rash and he is always calm and understanding with here. He says thats just how she is and she shouldn’t change for him. I don’t know what to do I’m willing to change but i have no idea how to go about it…..

As a young single mom raising two children I have not been as patient as I should be. They are good kids but I worry they will not come to me with their problems or for help if I don’t change.

I’m angry an frustrated alot,which in turn gives me anxiety. I get upset with anyone. I care about people alot, but my patience is sooo thin. With my family, people in stores, i cannot tolerate a slow clerk. On the road the4 traffic irritates me so bad, an i egt sooo stressed. I know its bad for me. How can i learn to be more patient. I am working hard on this goal. I am taking the time to stop and think about why I am annoyed, or irritated, or angry, before I say or do anything. Today, I was washing the car, and feeling short tempered and waspish, and stopped to think about WHY? .. I realized it was because I had a headache, it was hot outside, I was tripping over the hose and my shoes. Once I figured it out I went inside, took some medicine for my headache, cooled off and had some water, and amazingly I stopped feeling so clumsy and irritated, and took care of the problem without taking my grouchiness out on my husband :)

I need to do this… I have absolutely no patience with people and I think patience is an important quality to have.

Im already considered to be a very patient person but i want to be patient to an extent, where NOTHING in the world can make me loose my calm.

I’m a taurean, patience isnt something I’m very good at!

i guess this would go along with controlling my temper, but i think i need to try to separate the two so that once i can do one i will already have a head start on the other. i have to take this one slowly because it definitely is not easy for me.

Went shopping this afternoon and my patience was sorely tested at not only the incompetence of the cashier but also the lady in front of me who kept asking for a price check on items and also a ‘sub-total’ after every 3 items!

I say if ya can’t afford it, don’t even think about picking it up! But, instead of giving them both the ‘ya-gotta-be-shitting-me’ look, I looked away and silently prayed. A lot.

Good grief.

I’ve been asking God for help in being more patient and it seems that His view of that is to send me challenging people and situations….I’m not performing well, lol.
