It's a start!
Well, 7 days straight of meditation! A goal achieved, which was simply to sit for some period of time every day for a week. Done.
One thing I’ve learned the hard way is my need for meditation. Some people run depressed, and some run manic, others get anxious while others feel lazy. I tend to be manic/anxious, and my mind races. This is a usually a good thing, but not in meditation!
Next step is to DRASTICALLY increase the amount of time per session, and eventually to get my mind to slow down. It’s really out of control. No wonder I can’t relax; my mind is seriously all over the place.
Anyway, thanks for the support, and I wish you all the best in your meditative attempts.

So far, so good!
I really enjoy my mini-meditations. They only last about 3 minutes, but they really help. I hope to get up to 15 minutes, twice a day…once in the morning when my mind is most ready for it, and once in the evening when my mind is racing.

...so far, I’ve meditated for 2 days straight. Not much, but it’s a start.
My goal is to meditate 7 days straight, which will be complete this Saturday! And then of course, I hope this habit will continue.

I meditated this morning for twenty minutes. Focusing on my body and my breathing, I was able to evoke an overwhelming feeling of calm and happiness. This is intriguing!

is ready to meditate today
Today I meditated for over fifteen minutes outside by the pool. After a while, I fell into a reverie of calm and joy that felt wonderful. I focused on my breathing, on feeling warmth in my chest, and on conjuring feelings of gratitude and love by thinking about Kim and holding an infant in my arms. Fun times.

is ready to meditate today
On Wednesday I meditated for a half hour or so before I went to bed. On Thursday, I tried to meditate before bed, but I kept falling asleep because I was so tired. Today, I will try and meditate in the middle of my day. Two more days to go!

is ready to meditate today
I meditated tonight before I went to bed. I used some of the heart-centered stuff from the “Instinct” book and it felt wonderful and bouyant. This doesn’t take much motivation because the results are so positive. Four more days to go!

I really haven’t been putting time aside. I’m always worried that this meditation will put me to sleep, but I always seem to have something to do.
Solution? Perhaps I should do this first thing in the morning.

SO the technique I’m going to be working with is this: 5 seconds breathing in, 5 seconds holding, 5 seconds releasing, and 5 seconds holding. This really seems to chill me out if I’m getting anxious for whatever reason.
