How I did it: I went to the salon, lookedup tons of pictures to find the "right red" before hand, and showed them to my hairdresser. I was so excited to finally go red...then she rinsed it. It was not what I was expecting at all. Instead of the copper I had hoped *and asked for* I ended up with a soft strawberry blond. I guess its a two step process for us natural white-haired gals...grrr...I guess its okay. I'll just dye it darker red myself in four weeks/when I fade out.
Lessons & tips: Be specific with your stylist.
Go in with pictures.
If you have super light/dark hair, be patient...it takes more than once to get it right.
Will have accomplished this come Wednesday. Mom’s Christmas present to me was a trip to the salon for red hair. So excited. Have wanted to dye my hair lovely natural shade of red since 10th grade. Am now a second year college student. Good things do come to those who wait. My mom’s scared now though because she really likes my blonde hair as is…and I’ve never colored my hair before.
It can be a pain for find just the right shade but I will never go back to my black hair.
