So. Yesterday the cold shower really helped me wake up and get things done. Today, not so much. I guess having 5 hours of sleep sort of ruins the effect. We’ll see how the rest of the week goes.
How to take more cold showers
How I did it: i take more cold showers now because as part of trying to achieve other goals i go to the gym and do more, a cold shower really cools me down and sorts me out.
i think cold showers are cold , so no suprise when i take one they are cold.
i just take a short cold shower of maybe 60 seconds just to quickly freshen up, or maybe a longer one when i get back from the gym and im too hot.
Lessons & tips: if you dont like them dont put the water on the coldest setting just have them cool . or if they are too much , just turn the water on for 20seconds then turn it off and maybe try and last 30 seconds next time . or alternate between hot and cold... or go straight in without thinking about it. or just do 1 part at a time.. there is lots ofways to go about it. they are just a bit cold at first

About a year ago I became quite fond of taking cold showers for health and energy purposes (ok, yeah, it’s also good for your physical appearance, I won’t deny my vanity). They really did seem to give me a burst of energy in the mornings…which is pretty novel for me…but then it turned winter and, well, I lost my motivation.
Lately I’ve been battling fatigue. I just started going back to school last fall and being tired all the time is just not acceptable. So I’m going to try this in addition to a few other things, including getting my circadian rhythm back on schedule & doing more cardiovascular exercise.
Cold showers make you really gasp for breath, and I love that. They also make you age less, and if you’re a woman, keep your boobs perky. It also is good for your immune system because it shocks your body on a daily basis. It feels great!
And after reading about it, I think I’ll stick with it. We’ll see how it goes.
tahti is going to drive for the first time! Pray for me :o
very revitalising, however since winter came i’m planning to continue on this goal when summer comes :p
I should have started taking cold showers much earlier.
Since I started showering in cold water morning and at night, I am alert during the day and relaxed at night. My joints no longer ache (which was a concern considering I am only 32!), my skin in no longer dry even though I now use ordinary soap, I am sleeping much better and even my posture has improved as my muscles appear more flexible.
Plus the all over warm rush as your body temperature rises again is amazing.
Highly recommended!
