"This was painless, exciting, and more than worth it!"

How I did it: I went to get the piercing in around August. I wasn't that nervous even though I had heard it hurt, because my pain tolerance is pretty high. Well, I wasn't nervous until about 2 seconds before she was going to pierce me, that is. My palms were sweaty, but apparently I looked fine.
She told me to take a deep breath and let it out, and I did so slowly. I waited and started to panic. Why wasn't she piercing me? I was getting slightly annoyed and waiting for her to say "Take another deep breath and let it out" because I assumed she hadn't done it.
"Is everything okay?" I asked. She snorted.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," I said, confused.
"Well then get up!" she laughed.
"Are you... are you done?" I resisted the urge to poke my left tragus.
"I've been done for about five minutes, sweetie. We're done. Now come over here so I can get you your cleaning solution."


Yes, that's right. I was sitting there looking stupid because I didn't even feel the piercing. But the nervous wait was well worth it, it's my favorite. I'm getting my industrial next, and then my right tragus. So cute and perfect.

Lessons & tips: 1. When you're told to take a deep breath and let it out, take a very big breath, and let it out strongly and slowly. Focus on letting the air out and it'll be through before you're even done breathing :)

2. I get asked this a lot: You can listen to your iPod the next day, and comfortably listen to it about a week later :)

3. You will get headaches after the piercing. I don't remember how soon after I got mine, but where as a normal piercing is sore, the tragus is attatched to your face, so talking and sudden movements may bring on a headache. I actually had pretty bad ones for about a week after my piercing, but as I said before, worth it!

    a day before my 13th birthday i got both of my tragus’ pierced, it was so quick, and i was impressed by how gentle the piercer was(:

    just make sure the person that is going to pierce you has the right utensils, aswell as it should be sterilized

    a million and one people will ask if it hurts (which i found it really didn’t) so i just tell them it does. i like people the only person with it. (: the said “crunching noise”, i found, was not that bad in the slightest. totally worth all the anxiety it caused, haha.

    I just got it last weekend but it is not hurt! I’m young woman now but love it! I suggest y’all get sea salt warm water in it to clean your tragus and special kind soap for piercing to keep it clean. BUT I got infected so I got Bactine to help it but lots of better now and back to normal now. Just turn your tragus to keep ear free but keep hands clean!

    I want to get my Tragus pierced. I have been thinking about it for a while. I have a friend who recently pierced hers and now I have even more motivation. Im nervous though. Does it hurt worse than cartilage piercing? I already have one of those. If anyone can give me some info, please do! :)

    I had my tragus pierced a month or so ago. My husband did it for me at his shop (he is a tattoo artist and piercer). I was really scared and almost chickened out but he called me on it so I did it. It did not hurt at all really, just the anticipation was excrutiating. This is not my first piercing as I have my navel, left nipple, clitoral hood, and ears of course. None of my piercings were really bad but I made them out to be before I even had it done so when it was actually done I was pleasantly surprised that it did not hurt. My advice is if you want it, do it because it’s worth it. Just be careful to go to a good piercer and keep your hands off of it until it heals. Also, clean it religiously. I didn’t and it got a little infected.

    Ok, for my tragus piercing i’m going to be honest. I don’t feel that I have THAT high of a pain tolerance. I went with my friends and I was soo nervous to get it done because everyone told me it hurts really bad. When I got to the place and went to the back room and sat in the chair, the piercer explained what she would be doing. She told me to keep breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. She said I’d feel a pinch, pressure and another pinch. Finally, she said “okay i’m going to do it.” I said “okay.” I didn’t feel a pinch, all I felt was a little bit of pressure, but it honestly did not hurt, and then all she had to do was keep pushing until it pierced through. Anyone who wants to get this done, it is so worth it. Take my word for it, I freak out at stuff like that and I was completely fine, it doesn’t hurt at all, and it looks so nice :)

    iv had mine done twice now and both times its got infected, just had the 2nd one cut out after having it in for 6 months and i was still in pain. a few of my mates have had it done without any problems, must just be me!
