I must read this. 2 months ago

This goal seems to end up at the bottom of my list. It is as if I need the GTD system in order to read the book about the GTD system. I do need to read it. I do want to read it. However, somehow I have not yet done so.

Because I’m a bad procrastinator and need to get over it!!

Finally reading it. 4 months ago

I am reading Getting Things Done now. I have succeeded in adjusting to the texture of the cover. I have read approximately fifty pages. I continue to read.

and I am reading it now! I really need to get things done so I want to read it by tomorrow noon and then start to really implement it beginning of next week. This will get me going again! and then I will read 4 hour work week to complement it. Once I have a system in place I will feel better, I am sure!

This is not a good excuse. 14 months ago

The reason that I have not completed this goal is that I bought the book. I chose the paperback from Amazon.com. When I received the book, the cover was a texture that made me shudder every time I touched it. If this had not happened, I would have finished the book in a week or less. Unless I can adjust to the texture, I might have to check the hardcover out of the library in order to read it.

This is not a good excuse, but it is true.

I do a pretty good job of collecting, I am learning that I don’t have the rest of the system in place, therefore collecting is just a curiosity and it creates huge piles of papers.

Like the piles of papers that I have worked with, and around, for at least 20 years.

Reading is one thing 22 months ago

I finally listened to the audio book—a couple of times. It’s a quick listen. I suspect the concepts will be simple once I internalize the process and the levels of focus.

Now, I have to implement. I’m looking through tools to keep track online.

I ordered it from Amazon. It arrived this week and tonight I read the first chapter. I love the concepts. I hope I can continue reading it and use the information. I also hope that when I use it, I keep using it and it leads to a perminent change in my life. I have an annoying habit of getting into stuff like this and then a couple of months later it’s like I never read the book or its principles.
