I have a friend who works at a pizza place and has just become a supervisor. Somehow, I ended up with a job, and I could not be happier.
How I did it: I put together a decent resume and applied for any job that interested me within the company I worked for and a handful outside. I interviewed anywhere that I was granted an interview. I researched the position, (company, where applicable), average pay and studied common interview questions before the interview.
Lessons & tips: Stay calm. Be prepared for interviews. Bring extra copies of your resume and anything else that you're asked to fill out beforehand just in case there's more than one person interviewing you. Dress for the job you're applying for. Look for lists of common interview questions and ways to answer them. Be truthful but don't get led into trick questions.

I’ve been unemployed for about two months… living with my mom again is livin’ the easy life. I need to get moving though; time for a job again. Tomorrow I’m going to print off copies of my resume and start hunting.
I’m selling my stock back to my job and quitting to pay for my college so I can finish in a year. I’ve taken so long to finish college , my 10 year reunion is this summer, b/c I didn’t do well and my parents made me pay for way through community college. This cuased me stress plus I have serious math leanring disability that holds me back. I have one year of school left and I want to walk the line with my diploma in hand.
I know I’m taking a great chance but this is worth it. I’m looking for an intership at a local tv station January of next year.

Somewhat more in debt and without a job that I thought I would easily find since I went back to school and got my Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. Well, I decided to go back to school and get an education because I believed it would make me more of an investment to companies since I had several years of working experience and held a degree. Boy was I wrong. Here I am 6 months after I got my degree and without my dream job but more in debt.
Funny thing is that I don’t blame companies but rather the state of the economy. I strongly believe that instead of giving massive bailouts to tonz of companies the government should apply some of it to help out students that have endured expenses toward education especially when they haven’t been able to land that perfect job. (Just my $.0002 cents worth)
Now, I do have a job but one of the reasons why I decided to go back to school was to get a better paying job where I would be treated as an equal and not as a pee-on. My current boss is so unfair and sees me as a nobody instead of a team member. The unfairness there is so bad that me and my other co-worker are treated as nobodies,literally…All-in-all, not a morale boosting place to work and not because of the work but the manager!
i want to have a job with better payment and conditions, i am a computer programmer
I really don’t like it, at all. I was able to put up with it, but tonight definitely changed my mind. I realized how awful of a place it was, and I want out!!
I need to find someplace new!
I’m 27 Years old, soon to be 28. I want a better job. So I can pay for school (when I go) and to get my self out of debt. I know the saying “Get paid more, you’ll spend more”. I’m so learning my lesson on spending my money ridiculously stupid. So I have learned this.
Here’s my issue. I AM a very shy person. Especially to be around tons of people. Though if I was to work in a company or business I can get used to the environment, though I will still have the shyness, because at the company I’m at now, I’m still shy around some of the people and it has been 8 years on and off with the company.
So what I was getting at is, I feel very nervous and scared to even try to apply for a new job. I’m not sure what I can get with just a mature student diploma. I love a fast pace environment, I love a company that you can grow and learn so much. I love all of that, I’m just not sure what to go for. And just to go to school to get a job that’s worth having, I don’t think I can do that. I will for sure work from the bottom and work my way up. It’s just that I want a good job right now (which I might not be able to get) so I can get out of debt and save money for school, this way I can take the courses’ I want and do what I really want!
ANY COMMENTS GOOD OR BAD, I’LL TAKE IT. I JUST NEED SOME ADVICE MAYBE A REALITY CHECK OR A SWIFT KICK IN THE BUTT!!!!
I hate my job and looking for internships to have one for my senior project and one that’s far away from home. The economy sucks so I don’t know what to do but stay in job I hate some of time.
I have been in a job for almost a year that was supposed to be temporary. Time flies when you try to overlook how miserable you are, but I’m devoting all that time now to job hunting. I have posted my resume to a few promising positions. I have been getting call backs on interviews, but when it comes down to the offer, I don’t have as much experience as other applicants. I’ll just keep on it.
