I am working on an organic farm where the manager has a certification in permaculture, we often talk about permaculture aspects as they relate to how the farm is run. So that will help I imagine.

Reading the book Gaia’s Garden has helped me learn much about the process of permaculture. It is not rocket science, it is just seeing how various parts of nature interact with one another and learning to work with nature, rather than against her.
Discussing the four zones and how it applies to food growing we can learn where the plants that need the most sun would be most productive, I.E places with the least shade, and those that require a lot of water will obviously be most productive in the wettest parts of your garden space (backyard, 100-acres wherever).

The ultimate goal for me in learning and applying the techniques of permaculture is no less than global transformation. We have to do something…and fast…if we want to save our civilization.
