I was pick-pocketed on the first day of my solo trip and left almost 0 money – borrowed some money from a stranger and a friend. I felt hugely disappointed to think I wouldn’t be able to ride hot air balloon in Cappadocia, Turkey. Then I met another stranger who willingly to borrow me a sum of money for this ride. Since this was the highlight of my journey, I took it happily and felt really grateful for it. :)
I’ve returned all the borrowed money, thank you so much! Not forgetting every single kind people I met during the journey. God bless! 14 months ago
How I did it: I saw a groupon for a half off hot air balloon ride, so I quickly asked my boyfriend and he thought that sounded fun so we booked it for a few weeks later and today was the day! We did the sunrise flight (which is pretty early arriving at the launch site at 5:15 am when you live 45 minutes away) in a ten person hot air balloon. It was amazing to rise with the sun on a cool morning with bursts of hot flames to keep you warm. It was the most unique feeling, you really do float and it's very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend it! It was a bit pricey but I'm never going to forget this experience! Read how I did it… 21 months ago
I found the place I’m going to book through and I have the money. But a lot of my friends are chickening out or just can’t afford it, so the dilemma is going to be finding someone to go with. Yes, it’d be a great experience, even alone, but I’d love to share it.
I have two friends out of town for summer who both said come fall they’d do it with me. A friend who recently moved did it last October and loved it, especially seeing the leaves change from above… So if I can’t do it this summer, I know it’ll happen, and maybe be better even in the fall. So cheers to checking this goal off! Perhaps if I can find people to go this summer it’ll happen twice… 2 years ago
