I like this! 12 months ago

I may try this one! I do it already for my kids, but I’m the kind of person who gets a kick out of doing things for people I don’t even know. Great idea! :)

Well, I have been carrying post its. I left a sticky note the other day on one of my staff’s cars. They were having a bad day. I wrote”Things always get better”

She came in to work the following day asking who left it on her car. Everybody responded that they did not know. She said that whoever did, she wanted to thank them for putting a smile on her face at the end of a stressful day.

I heard this and it made me feel great to know it. I left another one on an old car that was parked next to me and wrote” I LOVE YOUR CAR, IT IS A CLASSIC” and it truly was a classic . I love the feeling I get from doing this…it makes you feel so good inside. So I am going to continue this one for a while.

I am well on my way to start with doing this. I have the post it notes. I only need to get the nerve up to randomly leave notes in different places to try and cheer someone up or brighten their day.

Sammy baby,

You have inspired me to do this one. If it makes you feel good about you then I am sure it will work for me. Thank you for your confidence.

A post-it that read, “Thank God I got you!!” in regards to getting THE nicest woman at the DMV, just after getting the nastiest one.

Great idea 20 months ago

I did this twice today, just for the hell of it. I left a note at the career center that said, “You can do it :)” and another one at my chinese restaurant, on the wine list, that said, “You are so beautiful.”

I think I’ll continue to do this, b/c it gave me a charge that I was brightening up someones day(possibly, hopefully).

Idea for 43things Peeps in this entry 23 months ago

Well I’ve visited my momma and grandma in Florida. While I was there, I would leave random notes around the house, in their books (at different chapters), in the pantry, in the TV guide, about how I miss them and love them. So that days, weeks, maybe even months go by, they’ll eventually see it. I’ve gotten very warm feedback by doing this.

Actually I have done this every place I go when I visit family or friends. So this is my tip to you all out there in 43things land. You may use it, I give you permission :) hee hee

But, I think I’ll start doing this for strangers. I need more positive energy in my life.

not exactly a post-it... 2 years ago

i go to a large-ish church, and they must have sent some people to help Habitat for Humanity rebuild houses after Katrina, because mounted on one of the pillars in the lobby there is now a hammer in a glass frame, with a thank-you plaque beneath it from HfH. when i saw the hammer in the glass case, i decided that it needed another sign. so i went home and printed off a professional-looking sign that said, “In case of emergency, Please break glass” with an arrow pointing up to the hammer. When nobody was looking, i put it up underneath the glass box in the lobby. It was up for several days, and then suddenly disappeared at some point on Easter Sunday. Oh, well.

i got one back! 2 years ago

I PARKED a bit wobbly in a car park when i went to the supermarket yesterday and someone left me a post it on my side mirror saying ‘do you always park so selfishly?’
instead of getting upset i was quite excited that someone had even bothered doing it for a seemingly 3 cms into the next carspot. so well done mystery postit note leaver. thank you for brightening my day!

Sorta do that already. Only I chicken out a lot, and I usually hand them to people instead of leave them. I’ve done that before, though, but I’d like to do it some more.:)

I don’t really carry a purse, but I like the idea.
