bergysgirl wondering what to cross off next on my list!
I am MERIT-LISTED! I think this means that all of my paperwork and requirements have been completed!!!! YAY!
Now, I have a specific request for a trade and all positions for this fiscal year have been filled. The next fiscal year is April 2010 so I have to patiently wait until then unless one of the current 5 ‘students’ quit, drop out or fail.
This gives me time to workout and get in better shape!!!

My interview on Tuesday went very well, and now I am just waiting to hear when my starting date is! Finally, I am a military member!

I am getting so nervous about my interview! It is less than a week away, and I still do not feel prepared! I have been trying to answer lists of interview questions to prepare some answers.. I’ve done a lot of research on the position I’m applying for (Signal Operator), and I even bought an outfit specifically to go to this interview in. I am always so nervous for interviews! I end up not being able to speak, stumbling over my words, forgetting what I wanted to say.. My palms sweat like crazy. And this is not just a “Oh it’d be nice to join the military” thing… this is a MY LIFE DEPENDS ON ME GETTING THIS JOB and so does the life of my family (especially my daughter). This is the only career I want to have. I am so afraid that I will blow this interview and all the weight of ruining my family’s lives will be on my shoulders.

FINALLY I got an interview booked for August 18th. Let’s hope that goes well so I can get myself into training already!

Well, I called the recruiting office again today to figure out why it is taking so long to get an interview. Apparently they had no one qualified to conduct interviews, and have just hired someone on. They have to do a week of on the job training in Ottawa, and cannot start doing actual interviews on his own for another couple of weeks. They say I am fourth on the list to be interviewed, so I will probably get in on the second day he is interviewing people. So it’s looking like somewhere around the beginning of August I’ll get my interview, and after that, my start date (if all goes well). Hopefully I will be able to start my training around the beginning of September. What a life-style change this is going to be!

Almost There!

Well, my application has gone through, I wrote my aptitude test and qualified for everything, and passed my medical test with no problems. All that is left is the interview! If that goes well, then I will have completed this goal.

Amparo0508 has been on 43 things for such a long time!!!
just have to wait for that dreaded DADT to get removed, and then I will dedicate a good portion of my life to helping our soldiers that are in danger’s way.
I just don’t understand why it’s such a big deal to be gay. I mean, I already have a long-term girlfriend who I love. I’m not using the military as a dating service. But I do have a sense of pride in my country and want to help the men and women who put their lives in danger to help eradicate extremism in the Middle East. I have lots of friends who either have already served in Iraq or Afghanistan or are currently serving. I would want nothing but the best for them as far as medical services go, but I know that’s not the case.
I want to be commissioned for the medical services, and I’m smart and capable, so hopefully they will take this stupid ban away and let me help them. I mean, they NEED the help. They offer $20,000 sign on bonus for the medical corps. I would gladly do it for free, if discrimination against gay Americans were not a law.
Here’s to hoping that DADT changes soon, for the troops sake and for the sake of gays who take great pride in their country.

I’d love to join the military. It’s sounds fresh and new I’d love to do either the Army or the Navy. I’d like to mature and see things that I might not normally see.
Do what others have done before me. I’d like to make a career out of it if I can. To live my life for the armed services. I also would like it because I could kill two birds with one stone.
I want that college tution to help me further.
I’d loved to do this with all my heart.

Tony_The_Beat Sleeping in a hotel bed. Think of all the people and... Eww
So damn close. Meps in 2.5 hours. For me to wait around for a bit just so I can pick my mos. Hopfully no issues pop up. Anybody have trouble with aims testing? I scored a 31 and I know that’s low, but can anyone tell me of it’s low enough to disqualify me?
