Luckily, I had a little Canon PowerShot A590IS that has been the perfect little camera for me to learn basic photography with as I was saving up for my newly purchased Canon T3i with additional lenses (55-250mm & 50mm f1.8 prime).
If you don’t already have a simple point and shoot digital camera, you might want to get one (Make sure it has Av, Tv, and Manual modes) so you can learn basic photography skills before moving up to a “big gun” DSLR.

I’m budgeting $1000 for the lower-end DSLR and extra lenses that I have my eye on. I’m still a little on the edge about this goal altogether – I want it, and it will be great for my work/business, but I am not a trained photographer by any means. Hmmm… 23 months ago
