My family and I invested in a Wii Fit. I have been exercising daily since I got it and am loving it! It starts off with very simple exercises to get you started and motivated. As you keep going, you have the option of increasing difficulty and you choose your own work-out focus.
It is also great because you do this in the comfort of your own home! I am enjoying my progress very much. It may not be for everyone, but it is helping me achieve a more active life :)

kmslat is always striving to be better...
okay, so spin class is the way to go. i don’t even care how badly my knee hurts during and afterwards. i just love it so much.
and…my husband and i have started playing tennis on a regular basis. for a guy who never played actual matches growing up (he’s one of those club kids who just picked up a raqcuet and ball and hit)he’s really quite good. we’re having too much fun to even notice that we’re sweating. i love it because not only are we working out, we’re getting to spend quality time together.

Well after a brief blip where i was a bit lazy for a couple of weeks, I’ve kickstarted myself into going running again, and have pretty much been running at least a mile everyday – most days a good 2-3 – so quite chuffed with myself!

I went to the gym with a friend the other day, and although we worked out pretty hard, i didn’t even realize it because we were having so much fun! kw is just so goofy that we both forgot that we were actually working out. we’re going to start going every tuesday and thursday!

well i’ve started running a lot lately, and i just don’t know what happened. I went for one run a couple of weeks ago, and it was further than I normally go, but ever since then i’v been running about 1.5 miles then walking 1.5 miles up a steep hill then down again to go home. I feel so much better! It’s hard forcing yourself to go out there initially, as the appeal of just being a slob is obviously there! especially if you know there’s a new bar of chocolate in the fridge! but once im out there I love it, especially if the weather’s good, and i’ve been increasing my distance gradually. It’s amazing that after stopping training for 2months, then I was struggling to go .5 mile, and now I can run forever. Well not forever but quite far. 5km fairly easily which I think shows, It really can just be mind over matter.

“enjoy exercise” has seemed like an oxymoron or at the very least the thought of the two words together feels like an impossibility. I am working on changing my beliefs about my ability to enjoy exercising. I wish I loved it as much as I did when I was a kid and found the idea of “going out to play” as the most fabulous thing. Actually, my experience has been that once I actually workout I feel wonderful afterwards and I’m always glad I did it. I’ll try to hold on to that thought.

exercise is something that i know that i have to do – but don’t – i try once in a while & pay a lot for the option to try once in a while but i really don’t enjoy it. just listen to the word…T-R-E-D-M-I-L-L! how on earth can a person make exercising enjoyable?
