Well, I’ve been practicing at least once a week for the past couple months. So now I know all the names and locations of the countries in Central and South America. I also now know all the countries in Europe and their capitals. Eastern Europe was tough! So, now on to Asia.

I’ve learned all of America except for the darn northeast. They’re so little and close together up there!
I’ve started on the state capitals quiz with the hope that knowing the cities will help me remember the states I’m struggling with.
My geography is horrible. I know my own city pretty well, and more or less the order of the states that I drive through to get to my college, but everything north of North Carolina is one amorphous blob. It’s all New England to me.
(I really thought Virginia was next to Massachusetts. Not kidding.)
Of course, this could have something to do with the fact that I haven’t looked at a map of the U.S. since grade school.
I got a 137/150 on my states quiz. Not bad, but not great either.
My plan is to start with my country, then my continent, and go out from there.
PS: Here’s another geography quiz site.

I know basic world geography. I know my continents and if you name a country I will most likely be able to tell you which continent it belongs too. I also know some world capitals but not nearly as many as I would like to know. I can locate all my continents on a map and I can locate some cities in some countries. I also know most North American geography, and I can get the basics of western Europe and I can get some of Asia and a little of the southern part of Africa. I know some of south America but it’s a little fuzzy. Anyways I would REALLY love to improve on my geography. I will know when I am good enough.
I put together a “global” puzzle last week and realized I have no idea where most of the countries in the world are located. So starting with Europe, I am going to teach myself the names and locations of every single country.
I only know a few state capitals, I can only put like 10 states on a blank USA map, and don’t even get me started on anything outside the US! I don’t know where or when I’ll start, but one day I’d like to be satisfied with my geographical knowledge!
I have been teaching myself the countries of the world and their capitals. So far I’ve learned most of Europe and Africa. After I get a handle on where everything is, I’ll learn more about the people, cultures, and history of the countries.
