I went to a pool hall with friends tonight and practiced a bit. I am awful.
Worth doing!
Back in the day, I used to enter amateur Pool Tournaments. It was great to be the only female and win.
I havent played much lately. That’s ok though because once you learn how, you don’t really lose the skill.
Worth doing!
Growing up, my town had all the usual options for bored teenagers: movies, bowling and strangely enough a non-alcoholic pool hall.
It’s non-alcoholic status made it possible for people of all ages to frequent it and became a pretty big hangout. I’d learned how to play when I was a little kid in Virginia and had a little heads up on everyone else. Even at $3.50 an hour, I probably wound up spending enough money to buy a few pool tables.
Pool has now evolved as a way to determine all sorts of things between friends of mine, with topics ranging from “Who gets the blonde and who plays wingman?” to “Who gets the street sign we stole last night?”
