Started to bring plastic bags/bags for life with me when i go shopping so that I can faze out getting more. the shoulder/handbag i already use is pretty much big enough to carry stuff in anyway so even if i forget to bring a bag with me i can usually just shove my stuff in there so its a start compared to all the plastic bags i used to bring home but i’m still not there yet. glad that shops have started to bring in a cost for bags though cos it means that people will think about it more and wont be left with bags they don’t need and just take without thinking.

How I did it: I clicked on the "tell me more" button on the website, and -- oh -- I mean, I started carrying around cloth and canvas bags in my purse. Living in New York I have to plan as to when I'm going to the grocery store, so I make it an effort to bring my bags with me. Read how I did it…

ive been very forgetful about my reusable bags, so lately i havent purchased more than i can carry out in my arms. so not only have i spent less on food (mostly those unneccesary things) but ive also not used any bags. although it bet it is kinda funny to see me jugglin all the items and tryin to unlock my car door
I now have a diddy canvas bag that folds in on itself into a tiny little pouch that is perfect for carrying in my handbag. No more excuses for not using recyclable carrier bags.

I’m normally good with this – but it is the unexpected purchases that I have to get better about. I need to get into the habit of carrying a small foldable bag with me in my handbag.
My backpack is always with me for the times when I forget to bring a shopping bag, resulting in my complete abandonment of plastic bag usage. Occasionally I will ask for plastic bags on purpose if I’m running out of garbage bags for the kitchen, but otherwise it’s become a habit to abstain.
This is especially when you shop. Even a single pastic cover lives way beyond the years you are on Earth. So atleast start taking the cloth shopping bag with you when you go to buy the groceries. Though I cant stop the packaging that is done in plastic, I can atleast stop taking the plastic covers during shopping.

got myself a trader joes reusable bag instead of usin a plastic one. ill pick one up every now and again but its not like i buy massive amounts of groceries but i figure i should be set with 3. not too bad if you only have one bag, it kinda discourages you from spendin alot of money on bullshit :D
now if i can only remember to grab it from my car trunk before im in the store…

I got some clothes and a bathing suit and used my re-usable bag.
I think this is good enough to mark complete. Whenever I go out I’m CONSTANTLY conscious of not using a plastic bag and ONLY use one when I can’t carry it and don’t have a reusable.

My dad and I went grocery shopping and managed to not use ONE plastic bag! (well they wrapped some meat in one, but that doesn’t count) ((well it does but shh))
