I know that her most famous work is Bridge to Terebithia, but I feel this book is as good if not better. As I read this book, I was amazed to see the content of this book compared to the content of books today. There were things discussed in this book that would cause it to be banned today, let alone win the Newbery Award!

    Great book!

Very good book! It reminded me of The Glass Castle in some ways.

I believe this has been my least favorite Newbery Award winner. Just never really got into it. Must have been a slow year for children’s lit.

I have never been a big fan of fantasy, but after reading this book I may have to give it a second chance. This was a book that I didn’t want to put down and when I did I couldn’t wait to get back to it.

I really liked this book. I am still debating but this may have been my favorite Newbery book so far.
