I’ve started writing it and I’m making some progress, but I’m banging my head against the wall trying to get some templates together so I can see the functionality at work.
That hapens to be how I like to work on things: I wanna see it while I’m buidling it. Motivates me a little bit more. Feels like I’m actually getting something to work.

Okay, so I like 43things and ta-da list, right?
Well, there’s some problems with them for me. One is that ta-da list sort of limits you to 10 lists of things to do. Not too bad since 10 lists is enough for a lot of stuff, but since I’ve started using 43things, I realized it’d be nice to have an itemized list of things to-do for each of my goals.
Also, I was thinking of some other ways that ta-da list could be improved, like, regular tasks that automatically get added to your lists when appropriate. Automatic lists that reset themselves on regular time periods and let you look for uncompleted tasks from previous time periods. Sharing tasks between lists so that when you check a task off on one list it gets rolled over to the other lists.
And another thing I’d like to see that neither really have is a way to create incidental tasks that you don’t plan on, but can add to your list of stuff done anyway. Like, say you happen to go see a movie on a particular day, it’d be a little checkbox thingy that would pop up and you could comment on it and such.
But Dan, you say, isn’t a lot of this functionality existing already variably through Blogs and 43things entries? Well, yeah, but I’d like it to be more formal.
This one’s a long term goal since I’ve got other, more pressing projects to work on, but I want to come back to it one day and it’s always good to write your thoughts down.
