keep my flat tidy!

My name is Gen and I find it difficult to keep my flat tidy. Some people have a knack of making a place real homely. I recently read that people who suffer from ADHD are untidy. I gave books to charity recently. I dont have a dishwasher – I am the dishwasher! I dont just want my flat to be tidy – I want it to be comfortable, inviting and stylish. Weather is mild but grey and rainy. I was made redundant from my job, and I have enjoyed having time for myself, my daughter Alexndra and my family. I got some books today, Freud on Food, how to look after children, an old book on Barbados; Freud is so witty in his cookbook. I thoroughly recommend it. Yhe Barbados Book is by Louis Lynch, former mayor of Bridge Town.

This has been here too long. Time for drastic measures. I’ve drawn up a rota. Yeah, it’s embarrassing, but maybe what me and my partner need.

This is one of those goals that you can’t really tick off until you’re in a good routine and will keep going without the need for a note on a list. This is quite a way off! I blitzed our main room and bedroom a few nights ago and now the whole place is looking pretty reasonable. The problems are a combination of too much stuff and (yes I admit it) laziness. As long as the place is looking nice now, though, I just need to keep it that way.
