We just got ours in the mail so I am officially in the French system. 4 years to go…

Open-ended offer.  — 6 months ago

Anyone up for marriage? Not sure what I have to bring to the negotiations, but I’d love me some EU citizenship. Dutch would be neat, but I’m open-minded. Hmm, let me think. I’m a damn decent cook, though I’m a vegetarian; I’m very skilled at rolling blunts, especially fat ones; I’m an articulate conversationalist and an enthusiastic copulationalist. Oh! And I even clean up after myself. Any takers?

5 year rule  — 7 months ago

Since I am married to a French man I am eligible for French citizenship in 5 years. It would have been 4 in May but dealing with Fr bureaucracy is never simple. See we got married in Puerto Rico and we live in NYC. We were unable to register our marriage with the French government in Puerto Rico, NYC and not even France! We have to go to register with the embassy in Miami, FL (which handles these types of requests on behalf of PR.) Luckily we will be there in Feb for a wedding. Who knows though perhaps Sarkozy will change the rules and I will have to wait even longer. In any case I am in no rush…

obtaining an EU passport  — 1 year ago

Hi,
Any ideas on conditions required to get an EU passport/citizenship? My mother was born in Austria. Her father-my grandfather- was born in Hungary. I’m an Australian citizen. I’ve heard maternal links to europe are acceptable now as proof of eligibiliy. I’m amped about living and working in Europe!!!

Ciao
