Yesterday, I ran a mile and it was 8 minutes 40 seconds

I have ran a 8 minute and 50 second mile before that I have recorded of. I’m sure I have done better, but I havent recorded much of my running.
Spring is gradually coming so it’s time for me to go outttttt. =)
About a year ago I was running regularly and after a couple of months of training decided to see how fast I could run a mile. Well, that time I did it in 8 min 7 seconds. Fast forward a year later and I haven’t done any running since then – first due to a chest infection and then relentlessly terrible weather. So, I want to start running and get back to at least my old level of fitness.
Holy crap, I never thought I’d get here.
I pulled this off this morning, and it feels great to accomplish something like this that had been not in my realm of possibility. Awesome sauce.
The girls trying out for competition had to time their miles. I’m trying out for basketball sideline, but I decided to run with them just for fun. I hadn’t timed my mile since before track season, so I was hoping I’d gotten it down to 7:00. HAHA. My time was 8:03, but I got boxed in until about halfway through (when I took the lead), so I think I could’ve gone much faster. So I’ll go ahead and mark this off!
Hurray!
I finished .5 mile in 4:21, but then dropped off. I’ve got to do something a bit more steady, I think.
