I just ran three miles a few days ago. 2 months ago

I seriously never thought I would be able to do this. I have always been overweight and before I went to college I had never ran a mile. In gym class in high school I would always just walk it. Good luck to all of you!

Today I got on the treadmill and ran a full 5K in distance (3.1 miles) without stopping or walking at all. I can’t imagine running a full 6 miles the same way, especially since my ipod won’t stay charged for an entire run anymore.

Feels good though, since I’ve been running since the tail-end of 2006, and this is the first I’ve been able to do the full 5K run.

I’m not doing so good with this lately…

I am not even going to get a good grade in my jogging class because I’m just so tired all the time from my daily life that running isn’t my priority. Plus, my neighborhood is scary at night, and that’s the only time I have free… is about after 10 at night after I get off work. As I have tried getting up at 5 am (the only free time in the morning to run… and I can’t get out of bed… just need that extra hour of sleep. :(

I still want to do this someday. But I know it’s not giong to happen anytime soon. :( So I’ll put it on hold

Yeah, baby. Here’s how it went down. I was visiting my hometown this weekend and decided to do 4 miles on an old route I used to hit in college. So, I paced myself for 4, since I hadn’t done more than 3 miles in a while. At the 4-mile mark, I was feeling strong and kept going. By the time I hit 5, I knew there was no turning back, even if I had to go on willpower alone and carry my lungs in my arms.

Since I wasn’t planning to do 6 miles, I didn’t bring a stopwatch, but going by the clock in my car and subtracting the time I spent stretching, etc., I did this in somewhere around 62 minutes. Not super-fast, but it was non-stop. This route is a bit tougher than my usual run, so I gave myself additional points for that.

Excuses Excuses Excuses... 12 months ago

I haven’t been doing so great. But I’ve been working a crap load and school started again, and now I’m uber stressed cause I don’t have enough time to do my homework and school and gah. I’m tweakin. I need some physical exercise to excert all this negative energy aka stress.

I’m in a jogging class now. So I need to start making progress on my time sheet…

I’m going to start doing better.

So my legs hurt so freaking bad from my run the night before, I didn’t run last night :( Really wanted to but it hurt too bad… now I know this means I should have gone for a jog as I need to work out some of the lactic acid, but I also didn’t want to over do myself too much and cause a problem…

I WILL be going tonight!! :) I can’t wait!!

so apparently all the motivation I needed was leaving the family dinner early to go jog because my family told me I couldn’t do it… they said I’d make it a block and try it everyday for a week and then I’ll stop trying. F* THAT!! I know I can do much better!! I went for my first jog last night… Jogged 3/4 a mile, walked 1/4 and then the last 1/4 mile home I finished in a slow jog. I was actually really impressed with how long I lasted!!! I am not going to give this up!! It felt really great!! I’m going for another jog after work tonight!!

I am going to prove my family wrong. And I am going to accomplish my goal. :)

not doing too good... advice please!! 13 months ago

I am so out of shape it’s rediculous. I huff and puff when I get to the top of my measly three flights of steps going to my apartment!! That’s terrible!! I have tried to go for runs lately but only get a few blocks before I have to just start walking :( It’s depressing!! And it makes me lose all hope and I give up. How do I keep myself motivated?? How do I push myself more and more to get my endurance built up again?? Any advice??
