PasadenaSueA picnic at home.

The weather was lovely today so I decided to have a picnic on my front patio. The idea behind a picnic is to eat outside, so this counts as a picnic (though I will keep the goal alive).

I sat at the small table on my patio and enjoyed swiss cheese, fancy crackers, oven roasted turkey (thanks to Trader Joe’s), and enjoyed my lunch. It was almost as good as a picnic in a park. I enjoyed it! 3 days ago

PasadenaSueA petite picnic.

I was going to walk around the Rose Bowl since I needed to get out and the day was nice. However I hadn’t eaten much so I decided to go to Trader Joe’s and buy something I could eat along the way. I opted for sushi – yum! I rode to the Rose Bowl and walked to an area that has a bench and a trash can, and is out of the way. I sat on a concrete ledge and ate my sushi while a bunch of lizards watched me. It was peaceful and quiet. The lizards were very interested in what I was doing and kept an eye on me while I was there. A few runners went past, and a couple walking their dog. This little corner is very quiet, even though the road is 10 feet away.

An enjoyable time. 2 months ago

Roslyn ByrneCollecting things.

I am always finding things in Charity shops which as soon as i see them i say oh that will do nicely for our picnic hamper.

Its still Winter here but we did brave the elements, i packed hot soup, croutons,& bread we went to Dover sat on the top of the cliff at St Margaret’s at Cliff, we couldn’t see a thing but it was nice to go out for a ride anyway. 2 months ago

PasadenaSueThe weather has been BEAUTIFUL lately!

February is my favorite month because we typically have incredibly sunny days, and the nights are cool. It can get in the 80s during the day (perfect weather for me) and then cool off at night so the weather is comfortable. Today was amazingly beautiful. The high was 77. :)

It is supposed to rain Tuesday, so I have the long weekend to plan my picnic. Maybe tomorrow as the weather should still be nice. 3 months ago

PasadenaSueNot a picnic per se...

However I did eat outside twice today. The whole idea behind this goal is to get outside and do things. I count eating outside as halfway to meeting this goal. Of course I still want to plan the whole fancy food, tablecloth, go somewhere beautiful and enjoy a nice meal thing. Since it is winter and the weather has been cold, just taking the time to eat outdoors is nice. 4 months ago

PasadenaSueeating outdoors more often.

I met a coworker for coffee this week, we sat outside and both of us commented on how perfect the day was to be outside. It had drizzled earlier so it was cool, with great clouds in the sky. The kind of weather that begs for a hot drink to warm you up. I really enjoyed the weather, as well as visiting with a friend.

And this morning I ate outside. Then I read for a while. After a nice 3 mile walk around the Rose Bowl, I ate lunch in the sunshine sitting on my patio. Perfect!! 6 months ago

PasadenaSueSo close!

Yesterday was a beautiful day so I decided to have my picnic. I bought some food at the store, and rode to a nearby park to eat. There was construction going on so I had to detour to get to the park. And when I got ready to eat, I realized I didn’t have any silverware! Fortunately I had bought some crackers, so I used them to scoop up my salad. It worked however the ambiance wasn’t quite what I wanted to mark this goal off as complete.

I will try again today. I need napkins, silveware, a tablecloth would be nice, and some dishes. And I’ll go to another park so I don’t have to deal with construction.

Still I enjoyed being under the trees, the warm sun, and the cool green grass. The park is lovely and I should spend more time there. 6 months ago
