I read the cards again for a party. Again….the cards seem insightful. There are so many mysteries in the world. I want to have more mystery, more connection with the energy that surrounds me. It doesnt even matter to me if it all comes from my imagination. Imagination is real.

I had my first tarot reading done this year… Just at a friend’s house party… He had to read from a book, so it lost some of the affect I’m sure you would have at a “real” reading… but I was still so impressed with how it clarified my situation in my own head…
I frequently get mistaken for a gypsy or pirate on the street (half-kidding) and I feel that tarot reading should be something I should add to my repertoire… I certainly have enough head-wraps, earrings, rings, and beads to be convincing ;-)
I started researching last night on-line and then went out and bought The Golden Tarot by Kat Black… It comes with a fairly informative little book, but I feel like I am going to learn the most from the wealth of information on line at tarrot sites, free reading sites, you-tube videos… The deck however is gorgeous. I was torn between getting it and getting the Botticelli Tarot deck… I felt like this was a better beginner choice, the illustrations are a little more helpful in deciphering meanings… As soon as I get comfortable, I REALLY want the Klimt Tarot – I’ll have to order that online, but it is absolutely gorgeous…
I wanted to throw this card up (from the deck I got…) I feel it is a representation of me right now… The cups are definitely my suit – full of emotion, reflection, and feelings…. lot of contemplation but getting little done… I am a traveler on a journey… leaving behind worldly possessions and materialism for a simple life… I have been exploring as much of the world as I can these past few years, and have learned so much about myself through this journey, coast to coast, continent to continent… leaving behind the cups and following the moon, the magic, the dreams because the rest has been a disappointment.
So, I’m gonna try to learn quick, cause with the Halloween season coming up, it would be fun to be able to do readings… I’m an entertainer and master of essence and creative environment… What I can’t learn, I can sure make up on the spot…

is Friday, and that to me means cards readings!
Yeah,I only read my cards in a shiny Friday.I don’t know why,but I met people that only do their readings in a specific day.Something about positive energy that helps getting more accurate reading I guess…
I hope I get some kind of enlightment tomorrow!

I bought my cards in France for €3. I wanted to get some better ones, but in my nearby store the cheapest were £15, and now that store’s closed. So I guess I’m stuck with these basic ones. Never mind. I think I need to find a book on tarot in the library or something.

Marigold you are exactly where you need to be
I’ve found myself a beautiful pack of cards, I really love them.
I was dying to try them out on someone other than myself so I gave my mum a reading earlier. It went well considering it was my first time, but I think I’ll practise on somebody else until I’ve got the hang of it. She’s learning to read them too (although she’s been doing it for a lot longer than I have) and she kept making comments and trying to take over a little bit, e.g. “Well I see what you’re saying, but I think it means this...”. It was off-putting to say the least. I’m so easily distracted as it is, I was getting rather annoyed. I acknowledge that she’s a lot better at it than I am and she does know what she’s talking about, but different people see different things; I was the one doing the reading and I was trying to interpret the cards in my own way! I was quite proud of myself!
Never mind :) I need to start a tarot journal soon so I can make notes on each of the cards, and I want to do a bit of research into symbolism and colours too. I’ve got a long way to go yet but I think this is something I could get into.

Sonya life lived deliberately
Over my winter break from school, I took the time to read about and write my own notes on all of the cards from the Major Arcana. I think I’ll probably have to wait until my next school break before I launch into learning the Minor Arcana and how to actually do a reading.

So far I have acquired my cards (Revelations tarot) and have read one book, aside from the one which came with the cards. This book greatly helped in painting pictures with the cards. It mainly did this through painting a story with each suite and the major arcana.

In order to learn to read tarot cards,I need to buy tarrot cards, right?:P
I’ve no clue where I can get them in my small town, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
In the mean time,I’m reading the good ol’ playing cards and to my surprise,I actually got it right the last time I read them for a friend.
I read that my friend would finally hook up with the guy she had a crush on and 3 days later, she did meet him and he asked her out!I knoe,it’s silly and it’s not of big importance but to me it is something.I guess some people will think that it was a coincidence, but I strongly believe there are no coincidences.
So,I’m starting to believe in tarot/cards and hope I will get well acquainted with them and be able to read them right and successfully.
It’ll be quite a good start for me,since lately I’m being drawn to the Wiccan and Pagan lifestyle and beliefs and I’m trying to come in contact with my spirit, soul and the elements.
