I love the outdoors! My family goes hiking often, but it doesn’t have the full effect of camping.

Have had some wonderful camping experiences this summer, good friends…. great fires. Fabulous.

from a small tent and/or the back of an SUV to a 27” travel trailer, which is really great. We can take our birds with us, which saves boarding fees.
We have yet to go on a long trip for more than a few days, but we go out for 4-6 weekends.
This year:
March – camped in Fillmore, CA around St. Pat’s Day
May – Memorial Day Weekend, Fillmore, CA
June – Victorville, CA
July – need a plan
August – Fillmore, CA
September – Lone Pine, CA
October – Fillmore, CA
November – ??? A bit weather dependent
Why Fillmore, you ask? It’s a campground we reserve with an acoustic music club we’re members of, so we can sit around and play music and sing all day and all night.

We’ve been camping a couple of times, but not nearly enough.
In fact, we’re still yet to test out our four wheel drive on such a trip.
wellonheels is. She just is.
As much as we want to use our new pop-up we bought last year, we probably won’t get to go camping this summer at all. One of our dogs is 17 and is blind and deaf, so my husband doesn’t want to leave him home without someone there to take care of him, and he feels it’s too much of an imposition to ask someone to stay there and be with him. We can’t really take him along, either, because he’d be completely lost, and probably never stop barking. So we’ll do this when he finally goes to the “great hunting-ground-in-the-sky”. On hold for now.
Camping is so much fun. I haven’t done it in such a long time. I never have with my husband and I’d love to do this with him. Hopefully sometime this summer.

So I got ditched at the last minute by my Sister and her husband, I was determined to stop allowing others interfere with my plans and doing the things I want to do, so I said screw it and went anyway to a local lake. Set up my tent (fortunately covered it good with tarps cuz it rained hard the next morning) I made fire, a fire that stayed lit during the downpour I might add, and stayed alive. Did some flatwater paddling and despite the weather, had a nice time. Got a little bummed out and only stayed the one night and through the next day but still…
