I want my own snowboard ! thats so cool =]
How to buy a snowboard
How I did it: Frankly buying one is cheaper then paying rental fees all season. Plus I'm small enough that I could buy a used children's board and boots! The boots ended up not fitting and I took them back and bought nice (slightly more expensive) boots, but totally worth it. I recommend buying the kind I got, they are the boots with the wheel thing instead of strings, so you just spin the wheel to tye your boots!
Lessons & tips: Do it early and save your self money.

Got my first taste of boarding just last week, loved every second. I deffy want my own gear so I can be more independant when I board from now on…Can’t wait to go again!
I actually bought three used ones at an auction! Just need to get some bindings and boots now.
I was looking to buy a snowboard on www.craigslist.com and I found a huge selection in my local area.. I’m looking at full sets (board, binding, and sometimes boots too) for around $200-400 and they’re not crappy old ones either.
I think I’m going to get a forum board, because I’ve heard they’re top-o-the-line.
I found a deal online for $350.. Forum Bjorn Leines 158 with Ride Bindings & Salomon Boots… fits me perfectly.. OH YEAH! I’ve got till sunday to buy it.. uh oh..
Update: I bought the board. So this goal is COMPLETE
I got a 2nd hand Burton Charger 156 from ebay and a pair of last seasons bindings from www.snowboardclub.co.uk.
Everything I’ve read/spoken to people about points that the boots are the most important thing so I’ll get them from snow+rock I should think.
I got a used Burton Air 161. It’s probably a little long for me, it’s old and has a bit of wear, but it’s a Burton, and it was cheap. Now on to bindings…
I was going to try to buy a new board, but even last year’s models are a bit out of my price range, so I’ve been looking on Craig’s List and found a few that may work. (I do have my own boots, which I got new, so it’s really just a board and bindings I need to worry about now.) My thought is that since I’m really new at this, anything name brand I can buy will be better than the rental stuff, and for a starter board (and my lack of ability) used will probably be fine.
atomic tika, blue with white hawaiian flowers and lot of sparkles. its awesomeness makes me want to ride it even more!!
Having your own package is much better, because you get to know your board kinda. Also, renting gets pricey…and my board kicks butt. The graphics are awesome and the performance is such that I can even board on ice.
Well, I got boots… Bindings and board will probably be acquired mid-summer, just in time to wait 5 months for snow…
