I am actually quite far from where I want to be physically, at least in my head, but I’m doing it. I work out at least three times a week, usually four, and I’m trying to increase that number! What helped me most was working towards things. I have a five in one months time – wish me luck!

I go into the climbing gym twice a week and walk two or more times a week most of the time. In the gym my warm up consists of 20 minutes of cardio on a stationary bike followed by another 15 minutes on a stairmaster while I stretch my fingers and arms. Then I stretch for about another 15 minutes, boulder a couple of minutes and climb for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
On two of the days I’m not in the gym, I walk to the library for a 2 mile round trip. I am going to add an abs workout to those days as well.
My wife and I have also started taking walks or hikes on the weekend to get ready for hiking the Lares trek on our trip to Machu Picchu.
I even exercise when I feel like I’m getting sick or if I’m slightly to moderately ill. I find that getting my blood moving clears my sinuses and helps me fight the illness. I usually just crank the effort back a little bit when I’m not well.
