Got my new TV. Got the junk food. Family and friends came. Problem is that when you are hosting you don’t enjoy the game as much worrying that everyone has enough food and drinks. Mostly everyone I invited came, but they came late missing the kickoff! Plus my friends aren’t much sports fans we were chatting and not focussing on the game or commercials.
I missed the Letterman-Oprah commerical! I DVR’d the game when I realized I wasn’t going to be able to watch the game like I usually do. May try to watch it but not the same.
On the brightside I had fun just hanging with my friends. 5 years ago

I am going tomorrow but it might be too late. A couple of friends I mentioned to it said they would come but I keep telling them the party is contingent on me getting a new set. If I wait too late I might not do it. Urgh…I’m urking myself beyond belief these last few days. 5 years ago

Tried last year but my friends aren’t into sports (even some of the guys) and my TV isn’t fab. I canceled the party when they made it seem like a chore they were doing only ‘cause they loved me. Tried to tell them I don’t watch football either until the playoffs and it is more about having fun, watching commercial and eating junk food than sports. They didn’t get it.
This year they sound more receptive to the idea. Probably, ‘cause I threw a poker party that kicked ass, poker another thing they weren’t too excited about. I think I will make it official this week and see if they bite. It should be fun even though my team, the Saints lost today (I drew them at random from a cup…that is how I decided to cheer for the winning Steelers last year).
Also, I still haven’t upgraded my TV. Must do that this week if I decide to throw the party. Was thinking 50 inch flat Panasonic I saw at Costco for just under 2 grand. Actually, that is a huge purchase…must research TV’s more! 5 years ago
